My name is Sarkis Horacio Adjounian Correa, I am an anesthesiologist specializing in algology and palliative care.

I completed my undergraduate studies as a Surgeon at the Central University of Venezuela, 2005-2011; and my specialty in Anesthesiology from the Central University of Venezuela, 2013-2016.

I did my specialty in Algology and Palliative Care at the Tecnológico de Monterrey and finished in 2020.

Certified by the National Council for Certification in Anesthesiology A.C., 2019 – 2024.

Algology is the area of medicine that deals with the diagnosis, management and treatment of pain. Among the therapeutic options is the use of specific drugs or outpatient interventional treatments (blocks, radiofrequency, phenolizations). All of these options are designed to decrease pain and improve the patient’s quality of life.

The palliative care specialty focuses on the diagnosis, management and treatment of symptoms associated with advanced diseases, its approach is generally not curative (terminal diseases) but rather, it focuses on providing well-being to the patient and his family at all times.

Both specialties go hand in hand and generally, in the comprehensive management of cancer patients, they are of great help to face cancer with dignity and without pain.
